Denholm Good Logistics arranged packing and transport of a welding machine to Mexico

Sep 16, 2024

Denholm Good Logistics (DGL), member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the United Kingdom, through their Sheffield based Project Forwarding team supported Conway Packing with one of their partners, who required assistance with transporting a friction welding machine and parts from Oldbury to Mexico. The project faced several challenges, including tight deadlines, the requirement for experienced hauliers, and the need to ensure safe and secure transport of heavy/oversized items through multiple transit stages, as well as international borders, all whilst facilitating dimensions of 1x 20’DV + 1×40’HC and 1x Break Bulk unit with 42.8 ton (BB being the main machine 42.8ton with 2 containers packed with the main machines operating system and equipment).

A company spokesperson informed: “The responsibility of handling this specialist cargo was entrusted to DGL and our expert team, who orchestrated the project and ensured that the machinery was carefully transported from the UK to Mexico. The cargo embarked on a journey from the customers door to London Gateway port via road freight. The breakbulk unit was held up in the port, before being loading from truck to vessel, which then travelled via sea transport ex. LGP to Altamira port. This particular project showcases DGLs ability to manage complex, time-sensitive freight forwarding operations. By effectively coordinating with various partners and maintaining open lines of communication for the duration of the project, DGL ensured a smooth and efficient delivery process overseas.

Partnering with Denholm Good Logistics enabled Conway Packing and their partner to transport this cargo safely and on schedule – the planning for which was meticulous. Throughout the entirety of the project, the DGL team guaranteed that the clients needs were adhered to, whilst also providing the best service possible.”
