PSA Intermodal Italy, PSA Italy’s intermodal operations arm, and Logtainer have signed the final agreement for the management of the intermodal terminal at Interporto Padova, marking the transition from the tender award obtained in December 2025. The agreement provides for the establishment of a new company, ‘PSA Padova’, which will lead the management and further development of the terminal.
PSA Padova aims to strengthen Padua’s role as a strategic logistics hub within key European freight and intermodal corridors, in line with PSA’s Node to Network (N2N) strategy, by enhancing connectivity between inland terminals, seaports and international transport networks, with an open and multi-user focus.

PSA Intermodal Italy will assume the principal role in PSA Padova, holding a majority stake and operational responsibility, building on PSA Italy’s established presence in the country. Interporto Padova will remain as a shareholder, ensuring strong local anchoring and continued strategic alignment of the terminal within the regional logistics system. The project builds on PSA’s global network of ports, inland terminals and supply chain solutions, bringing its integrated approach to inland logistics in Padua, together with the complementary expertise of Logtainer in multimodal transport operations in the Italian market.
Given the terminal’s advanced infrastructure and established connections to the Trans-European Transport Networks, Padua will drive PSA Italy’s ecosystem excellence, reinforcing the PSA Group’s N2N strategy to enhance competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability for Italian companies and supply chains across Northeastern Italy. The integration of rail, road and port linkages, will enhance freight flows through Padua and contribute to more efficient and lower-emission inland logistics.
