Last night at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 58th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards, AECOM was honored with the coveted Grand Conceptor Award for its work on the Grand Central Madison project on behalf of the New York City MTA.
Grand Central Madison is a massive infrastructure undertaking for New York City and the Long Island Rail Road, creating a more efficient connection between Long Island and Manhattan while broadening the talent pool for Long Island businesses. The project included 40 miles of new tracks, a new terminal, and extensive excavations deep below Park Avenue. The project has led to a 41 percent increase in the use of the LIRR.
