SeaLand update on Hurricane Zeta

Hurricane conditions are expected this afternoon within portions of the Hurricane Warning area between Morgan City, Louisiana and the Mississippi/Alabama border. A life-threatening storm surge is expected along portions of the northern Gulf Coast by late today, with the highest inundation occurring somewhere between the Mouth of the Pearl River and Dauphin Island, Alabama.You can view the latest details regarding Tropical Storm Zeta on the National Hurricane Center’s website and on https://weather.com/

Port Operations

  • New Orleans: The Captain of the Port (COTP) has set Port Condition ZULU. Port is currently closed.
  • Mobile: The Captain of the Port (COTP) has set Port Condition YANKEE. COTP may set Port Status Zulu as the situation develops.
  • Houston: Currently under normal status.           

  • The Port Conditions are:
    Vessel Operations
  • Condition Whiskey (IV): The ALERT condition in which winds above 39 mph are expected within 72 hours.
  • Condition X-Ray (III): The READINESS condition in which winds above 39 mph are expected within 48 hours.
  • Condition Yankee (II): The WARNING condition in which winds above 39 mph are expected within 24 hours.
  • Condition Zulu (I): The DANGER condition in which winds above 39 mph are expected within 12 hours and until the storm has passed and is no longer a threat.

Vessel schedule changes will be communicated as they are confirmed.
