New Albany rapid slide series high-speed doors exceed the cold storage industry's growing demands

High-speed and high-performance door manufacturer Albany announces the introduction of its new Rapid Slide Series High-Speed Doors, the company’s latest innovation for the cold storage industry.

Designed for rough high-cycle applications, the Rapid Slide (RS) Series doors are durable and long-lasting enough to withstand the ongoing wear and tear of frequent use. Available in single, bi-parting, and vertical designs, the new Albany RS Series doors will exceed the requirements of the most demanding cold storage distribution and food processing environments.

"The development and use of thermoplastic materials provides for a highly impactable door panel that can withstand day-to-day operational scrapes and bumps without tearing, cracking, or deforming,” according to Chuck Zimmerman, Manager, National Accounts, 4Front Engineered Solutions. “Such unique materials offer substantial improvements over the use of fabric-based door panels.”

More specifically, the Albany RS Series doors for cold storage applications are offered in eight specific cooler and freezer door solutions: RS1100 Cooler, RS1100 Freezer, RS2400 Bi-Parting Cooler, RS2400 Freezer, RS3400 Breakaway, RS3300 Vertical Dock Door, RS3500 Vertical Cooler, and RS3500 Vertical Freezer.

Zimmerman further explains that “continuous 24-hour-a-day drive and component testing ensures the highest quality standards over millions of cycles."

With an industry-leading and unmatched speed of up to 125 inches per second, full-width door opening access is achieved with the RS Series doors in less than one second resulting in the highest levels of productivity and energy cost savings. This speed, combined with insulation values of up to R41, and fully impactable next-generation panel technology, allows for high-performance operation without the unnecessary risk of door damage.

The RS Series doors’ flexible thermoplastic panel shells and polyurethane edge seals also provide for a seamless panel design. Compressible EVA closed-cell foam and superior impactability allow for ultimate damage resistance. These innovative solutions provide for enhanced temperature control and increased material handling efficiency while minimizing maintenance.
