CargoBarn adds top talent; Vekasi joins as VP Sales

CargoBarn, the home of worry-free freight logistics, has strengthened its executive team, adding experienced freight sales and operations specialist Michael Vekasi. Vekasi joins the technology-driven freight brokerage as CargoBarn’s Vice President, Sales.

Vekasi has more than a decade of freight brokerage experience, including recent roles as director of sales and operations for one of the largest 3PLs in the country. In that role, he directed a team of senior managers overseeing more than 180 employees in a major-market office.

“Michael will accelerate the growth we’re having at CargoBarn,” said Cameron Baird, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CargoBarn. “His experience with multiple models and systems will be a great asset to us, while his values and vision for the industry align well with our own,” Baird said.

Vekasi started his career as a logistics manager for NOTS Truck Service, where he controlled a majority of the company’s LTL volume through seven states. A Six Sigma Green Belt, Vekasi graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He will work from CargoBarn’s headquarters in Atlanta.
