Saudia Cargo, and Worldwide Flight Services launch ONE Record integration with CHAMP, accelerating digital transformation in air cargo

Apr 17, 2025

With CHAMP’s 1Neo-Connect service, Saudia Cargo (SACC) and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) can now leverage accurate, up-to-date shipment status information through a streamlined API.

Worldwide Flight Services, a SATS company and global leader in ground handling, and Saudia Cargo, a leading cargo carrier, have launched a significant ONE Record integration, marking a pivotal advancement in the air cargo industry's move towards IATA's ONE Record initiative.

CHAMP Cargosystems’ 1Neo-Connect service facilitates this integration, enabling standardized shipment data exchange between SACC and WFS. This successful project establishes a practical ONE Record use case, demonstrating how the initiative enhances air cargo transparency and real-time visibility for all stakeholders.

SACC and WFS will benefit from enhanced data accuracy and instant booking updates, significantly improving shipment visibility. This real-time data flow enables improved planning and operational efficiency while fostering greater agility and proactive decision-making through immediate access to precise shipment status details.

CHAMP’s 1Neo-Connect service was designed for seamless ONE Record transition. In addition, CHAMP has created standalone sandbox and pilot environments to allow its broad community of customers to trial ONE Record services before going live. By demonstrating the success of collaborative digital transformation efforts using 1Neo-Connect, CHAMP, SACC, and WFS are setting a new benchmark for the air cargo industry, accelerating ONE Record adoption across the sector.

Chris McDermott, CEO from CHAMP said, “CHAMP is delighted to support SACC and WFS with ONE Record deployment. By leveraging the standardized data exchange ONE Record offers, we are enhancing operational agility and delivering greater value to our customers through our plug-and-play service 1Neo-Connect.”

Eng. Hesham Alhussayen, VP Corporate Services at Saudia Cargo, stated: “Our collaboration with CHAMP on the adoption of IATA’s ONE Record initiative is a testament to our ongoing Digital Transformation roadmap. We see the initiative as a catalyst for innovation, enabling greater efficiency, transparency, and a more responsive, high-quality service for our customers.

John Batten, CEO EMEAA Worldwide Flight Services, said, “This is another important digitalization initiative for WFS, and we welcome the opportunity to be part of a user case that will not only benefit WFS and our customers but also send a positive signal to the industry for the wider adoption of digital solutions. There are many advantages to be gained from embracing new technologies, but the most significant steps forward come from this kind of collaboration, led by IATA and embraced by leading technology, airline, and handling companies. ONE Record has an important role to play in the future of our industry.”
