Northrop Grumman Corporation is expanding its use of NVIDIA technology, including adding space applications to the NVIDIA Omniverse simulation platform and leveraging the NVIDIA Isaac Lab framework for the training, development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) for cognitive spacecraft operations.
The company will develop end-to-end AI robotics technology to enable operations in new and highly complex environments including future applications for the next generation of spacecraft docking, servicing and on-orbit inspection and repair. In addition to end-to-end robotics, Northrop Grumman will apply agentic AI throughout all phases of spacecraft operations to automatically generate and execute spacecraft commands and mission plans. These advanced AI solutions will not only enable new mission capabilities but, in the future, could also be applied to active systems to enhance capabilities and increase efficiency of current spacecraft operations.
“By applying our extensive space knowledge and mission expertise to NVIDIA’s advanced AI technologies, we are poised to deliver innovative and high-assurance AI to enable new, more complex missions, with faster planning and significantly lower operating costs,” said Rob Fleming, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Space Systems.
