MSC local charges in Mexico scope: Import Mexico to USA & Puerto Rico

Jun 05, 2024

Effective July 1st, 2024, in Mexico MSC will be implementing a new local charge named "Container Protection Fee (DPP)".

This fee will be applicable in Mexico to all import containers and is intended to proactively manage container damage during transit avoiding clarifications and delays when returning the empty unit.

This fee covers damages up to USD 115 per container. If damages exceed this amount, the difference will be invoiced in the usual way by our depots.
