Inter-network cooperation for an Aircraft rescue in Botswana

Pol-Mare, Connecta Member in Poland, in cooperation with PGF Consultants, Pangea Member in South Africa, have recently coordinated an Aircraft on Ground (AoG) shipment of special aeronautic lifters for raising an Embrayer E190 aircraft stacked in Botswana.

The elevators were necessary for urgently repairing the plane and an extremely fast deliver was required. The challenge for the shippers was to find a transport supplier able to undertake the task moving the cargo to such a remote corner of Africa.

To the rescue came Pol-Mare, a well experienced freight forwarder used with finding solutions to the most complicated freight challenges.

Pol-Mare's Operations Team had to build special size pallets because the lift leg spacing was over two meters. They organized the appropriate packaging and inland transport in Poland up to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). At the arrival of the cargo at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB), PGF Consultants arranged the customs clearing and reception of the goods. Straight after, they moved and delivered all items to Air Botswana dependencies.

The elevators got safely in place and right in time for the aircraft to be repaired.
