Cosmatos transports bullet tanks in Greece in one of the biggest projects for the company

Jan 06, 2025

A spokesperson for Cosmatos Shipping Services, members of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Greece, explained about this record shipment:

“One of our biggest projects yet. Cosmatos Group is proud to announce the successful delivery of three propylene storage bullet tanks, each up to an impressive 650 tons, loaded from Thessaloniki Port and safely discharged at Soussaki Port, Corinth, in Greece.

Each tank had dimensions of L x W x H 67.50 x 7.60 x 10.70m. They were loaded onto ship with 2 x 900 ton SWL craned by lifting in tandem with the use of two beams.

Two trailers were used for the transport. Each trailer was equipped with a turntable for pivoting and had a width of 4.90m and length of 24.00m. Each platform had 16 axles and each axle three sets of 4 tyres.

Very big and very heavy, a profound heavy lift operation that we are proud to have been involved with.”
