INFORM implementing yard management system pilot program for AMPORTS

Jul 21, 2022

INFORM, a leading provider of Hybrid AI-based optimization software that facilitates improved decision making, processes, and resource management, announced today that it is in the process of implementing an extensive yard management system pilot program for AMPORTS, a leader in the global automotive service industry for over 60 years, and one of the largest auto processors in North America. INFORM’s yard management system, encompassing yard management, parking optimization, workshop management, and execution, will be applied at AMPORTS’ Jacksonville, Florida and Benicia, California terminals, two of its multiple locations in the United States and Mexico.

According to INFORM Software’s Chief Operating Officer Justin Newell, based in Atlanta, Georgia, “The goal of our pilot program for AMPORTS is to demonstrate the many operational benefits and efficiency gains that can be derived from the INFORM yard management system solutions. We are confident in our solutions’ ability to deliver real-time data and yard visibility for better decision-making and maximized lot utilization through our parking optimizer and workshop scheduler.”

Newell noted that AMPORTS was well aware of INFORM’s deep experience in the vehicle logistics space and sought a way to modernize its systems and procedures to drive additional gains in efficiencies, resource management, and increased customer service. “AMPORTS is at the forefront of its industry, continuously adopting leading-edge solutions to maintain its operational excellence, achieve greater resilience, and future-proof its operations,” added Newell.

AMPORTS Chief Operating Officer Ben Buben noted, “AMPORTS has spent many months studying multiple yard management systems, and in the end, INFORM came out on top. INFORM’s' track record, superior software development team, and AMPORTS ability to customize the software to our operations were a huge plus. AMPORTS is excited to launch INFORM across our enterprise in the coming months to drive efficiencies and give our customers the granular visibility of their products.”

INFORM’s yard management system pilot program for AMPORTS is expected to be completed in September/October 2022.

INFORM’s yard management system solution supports digital transformation and fully-integrated, streamlined yard, inventory, and resource management. Real-time data visibility enables yard and terminal operators to quickly locate vehicles as well as other assets and facilitate optimum planning and resource allocation. The scalable solution can be easily adapted to meet increased capacity demands and fluctuating market conditions.
