Helmut Wölfel appointed commercial director at SunExpress

Helmut Wölfel has been appointed as Commercial Director of SunExpress, effective September 16, 2024. Wölfel, will succeed Peter Glade who after over eight successful years will leave the company at the end of October.

In his new role, Wölfel will be responsible for driving the company’s commercial strategy, with a focus on expanding the airline’s network, increasing customer satisfaction and integrating cutting-edge technologies to enable faster, more efficient services. Helmut Wölfel holds more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. Since 2021, he had been serving as Chief Commercial Officer at Discover Airlines. Prior to this, Wölfel held various management positions within the Lufthansa Group including Head of Controlling HR and IT, Vice President of Intercontinental Network Planning, and Vice President of Commercial Hub in Munich.
