Graves statement on the CARES Act

Mar 26, 2020

Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves (R-MO) statement on the Senate’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act:

“The CARES Act is essential to addressing our Nation’s public health emergency, helping millions of Americans who are already out of work, and ensuring that we don’t lose millions more jobs through the closure of both small and large businesses in the coming weeks and months.
“When it comes to disaster relief funding for states and the millions of jobs our transportation industry supports, the CARES Act provides critical federal resources.  These workers and businesses have kept our transportation network moving during the pandemic, and this industry has been defined by its resilience.  This much needed support will ensure these dedicated workers can continue to do what they do best and transportation businesses can keep their doors open as we move into the next stage of this nationwide fight against the Coronavirus.  I commend our transportation workers and businesses for their continued efforts, and they should know that help is on the way.
“I applaud Leader McConnell and Secretary Mnuchin for leading this process and I urge swift House approval of the CARES Act.”
