Global disruptions may affect your supply chain following Microsoft IT system failures, seemingly caused by an update deployed by cyber security tooling firm Cloudstrike.
A number of shipping lines, customs systems, and transport businesses are impacted by the failure. Amongst them is the port of Felixstowe, where the processing, collecting and delivering of trailers is currently not possible while the Destin8 Port Community System that enables all sections of the maritime industry to facilitate the movement of cargo is also unavailable.
Customs entries on airfreight and some airlines and handling agents are also affected.
Our Woodland Group systems and servers are not impacted, thanks to strict IT policies and procedures that protect us from such outages. However, many customer, partner and/or supplier systems are unavailable, which includes EDIs.
We will continue to monitor the situation. Should you have any questions regarding these transportation disruptions please reach out to us here.
