Daphne Technology wins two awards at the 2025 SPE ATCE Startup Village

Oct 28, 2025

Daphne Technology has received two awards at the Startup Village Energy Startup Competition, organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) during its Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE 2025) in Houston.

Daphne Technology was one of ten finalists selected from energy technology companies worldwide to compete in this year’s Startup Village, where the company was awarded both the Rising Star and People’s Choice awards. The judging panel, consisting of venture capitalists, angel investors, and industry leaders, evaluated presentations covering the company’s SlipPure™ plasma-catalytic methane abatement technology, business model, market focus, and growth plans. The presentation demonstrated how SlipPure™ can significantly reduce unburned methane emissions from natural gas engines, supporting global efforts to mitigate climate impact from existing gas infrastructure.

Interim CEO Jamie Brick represented Daphne Technology during the competition and presented the company’s methane abatement solutions. Methane emissions are a critical challenge in the energy sector, with a global warming potential 28 times greater than CO2 over a 100-year period.

The competition took place on October 21, 2025, at ATCE in Houston, where each of the ten finalists had seven minutes to present their company and technology, followed by seven minutes of Q&A with the judging panel.

This was Daphne Technology’s first participation in a U.S. startup competition. Receiving these awards at ATCE highlights the relevance of methane abatement technologies on a global scale and the value of connecting with industry partners committed to delivering real-world impact in emissions reduction.

“We are honored to receive both Rising Star and People’s Choice awards from the SPE,” said Jamie Brick, Interim CEO of Daphne Technology.” The support and recognition from both the industry judges and the broader energy community demonstrate the urgent need for our technologies.”
