Worldwide Project Consortium celebrated 22nd annual conference in Ho Chi Minh City

Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) members gathered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for their 22nd annual membership conference during 10.-13. November.

Meeting each other face-to-face, discussing business opportunities and enjoying social events in the modern and vibrant Ho Chi Minh City presented a highlight for the participants.

WWPC local Vietnam host and sponsor to the event, Mr. Huynh Vi Phuc (Philip), General Director of A My Transports and Services Corporation (Amytrans Corp) made sure the group, comprising from members and sponsors from all over the world and invited guest speakers, had a great time. Member-to-Member sessions, dinners and excursions allowed time to interact with fellow members and sponsors.

The conference agenda gave amble time to interesting presentations from Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen- Director of the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, informing about preferential policies for foreign organizations or businesses investing in Vietnam. She also introduced projects that have successfully called for investment and are being implemented, and projects calling for domestic and foreign investors in the coming time plus projects being implemented with state capital but with foreign elements, such as financial support, technical support or equipment supplies.

Ho Chi Minh City is undergoing extensive infrastructural modernisation and this has been explained by Ms. Mai Phong Lan, Deputy Head of the Division of Enterprise, Cooperative Economy and Private Sector from the People´s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Department of Planning and Investment.

Martin Lee from Wisetech Global informed about the Cargowise IT platform for freight forwarders to the members in detail and also mentioned other services of his company, interesting and valuable for project cargo forwarders.

The traditional WWPC auction for disadvantaged children supported Tu Tam Home, represented by Nun Phan Nang, who explained in her presentation about the work of the shelter. The auction result was USD 15.200,- as a result of selling sponsored items from Chapman Freeborn Airchartering, BBC-Chartering, Steder Group, Sadleirs Global Logistics and Stuart Murdoch, Administrative Director of the WWPC.

In addition the attending members and the networks administrative service supplier Quality Cargo Networks Ltd generously contributed with money donations for the end result.

The WWPC Board of Advisors was re-elected for the period until the next membership conference and consists of:

  • Ahmed Dahshan, KML (Khedivial Marine Logistics), Egypt,
  • Marcel Hafemann, Ambercor Shipping, USA
  • Ole Dammann, LS Cargo Logistics, Germany.
