AAL Shipping (AAL) has once again secured top industry recognition in one of the world’s most important project cargo markets, winning the 2026 AFLAS Award for ‘Best Shipping Line – Project Cargo’.
Presented at the annual Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards in Shanghai, the achievement reinforces AAL’s position as a trusted shipping partner for customers moving complex, high-value and oversized cargoes to and from China across global trade routes.
The award reflects AAL’s continued investment in supporting customer requirements in China through specialist heavy lift and project cargo expertise, operational flexibility and a growing fleet designed to meet increasingly complex transportation demands.
As China continues to play a leading role in global industrial manufacturing, renewable energy development and major infrastructure supply chains, AAL has strengthened its ability to connect China with destinations worldwide through its multipurpose liner and chartering services.
Commenting on the achievement, Jack Zhou, General Manager of China, AAL Shipping, said:
“Winning this award is a tremendous honor and particularly meaningful given the importance of the Chinese market to global project logistics. China continues to be a key growth market for AAL and a critical hub for many of our customers’ supply chains. This recognition reflects the commitment of our teams and the confidence our customers place in AAL to deliver increasingly sophisticated project cargo and heavy lift solutions safely, efficiently and reliably.”
AAL remains focused on delivering the specialist solutions, reliability and innovation that customers across China and beyond have come to expect. Against a backdrop of growing project activity and sustained breakbulk demand, cargo flows from China to Europe and the U.S. have continued to accelerate, establishing these routes as increasingly important trade lanes for AAL. Reflecting their expertise in supporting this market, AAL transported almost 3,000 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units across 29 voyages from China in 2025 alone, building significant experience alongside producers and supply chain partners.
Five major shipping corridors face distinct operational impacts through the 2026 El Niño season, according to analysis published by Sofar Ocean.
