Utah Inland Port Authority Ends fiscal year 2022 under budget

The authority also hired seven additional full-time employees

The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) wrapped the fiscal year 2022 under budget, with more full-time staff members, and numerous exciting projects on the horizon. The UIPA Board of Directors voted Thursday to approve its fiscal year 2023 budget after hearing from members of the public during its board meeting in the East Senate Building next to the Utah State Capitol. Abby Osborne was sworn in as the UIPA board’s fifth voting member by a public notary shortly after the meeting began. 

The UIPA staff grew to 13 full-time equivalent employees in FY 2022, including an environmental engineer and director of technology and policy to assist in its mission of providing sustainable and smart supply chain solutions. In keeping with the organization’s value of promoting equity, half of UIPA’s staff are women who bring a unique perspective and innovative approach. The newly-established office of compliance ensures UIPA meets its own goals and those of the Utah Legislature and the State of Utah. These strategic hires bring additional expertise to the logistics industry and qualified experience to future-proof Utah’s link in the global supply chain.
