USTR Greer: Will talk trade with Taiwan, Israel on Friday

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said he will speak to his Taiwanese and Israeli counterparts on Friday about tariffs after holding a long discussion with the Vietnamese earlier.

Greer said he was speaking with multiple countries after U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he would temporarily lower the hefty duties he had just imposed on dozens of countries.

"I have a full dance card," Greer said in an interview with Fox News.

Greer stressed the importance of the United States diversifying its imports to make it less dependent on Chinese goods.

"We do import a lot from China, and that actually, to me, underscores the urgency of the situation," he said.
