The earthquake that struck off the coast of Mindanao, the Philippines, on June 8 caused severe damage in a number of regions.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) has decided to donate USD 20,000 through The Rayomar Outreach Foundation, Inc. (ROFI), a charitable organization established by the Rayomar Group, their business partner in the Philippines, to support relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas.

In coordination with ROFI, “K” LINE assessed conditions in the disaster-stricken areas and found damage to school buildings at an elementary school in Sarangani Province, Mindanao, where the impact of the earthquake has been particularly severe. The donation will be used for the installation of temporary classrooms to help ensure a safe educational environment for affected children.

“K” LINE offers their sincerest condolences to those who lost loved ones and sincerely hope for the swift recovery and reconstruction of the affected communities.
