U.S. Bank, GigSafe team to advance payment infrastructure for logistics industry

one hour ago

U.S. Bank today announced a collaboration with GigSafe, a compliance and payments platform built for regulated delivery and logistics operators, to enhance the way workers using GigSafe get paid.

GigSafe will leverage U.S. Bank Embedded Payment Solutions to provide customers reliable, transparent and scalable payment workflows designed to support complex contractor networks. The embedded approach allows payments to occur seamlessly within GigSafe’s existing platform, eliminating delays associated with traditional pay cycles and manual payout processes. It will also help GigSafe to expand faster pay capabilities. Specifically, GigSafe is using push-to-card functionality as an innovative way to deliver quick, convenient payouts directly to drivers’ eligible debit cards.

“For today’s delivery workforce, getting paid instantly is an expectation,” said Joe Voica, head of embedded payments at U.S. Bank. “By embedding instant payment capabilities directly into GigSafe’s platform, we’re helping delivery companies pay drivers immediately after work is completed, while maintaining the security, compliance and financial controls that come with a bank-led solution.”

“The companies we serve operate in high-stakes, regulated environments where contractor compliance is not optional – and neither are reliable payments,” said David Pickerell, CEO & founder at GigSafe. “Working with U.S. Bank allows us to close the loop: we manage compliance, they provide the banking infrastructure, and our customers benefit from a single platform that does everything. For a medical courier company that just won a hospital system contract, that level of integration is critical."

GigSafe will utilize a for-benefit-of (FBO) account structure from U.S. Bank to support compliant money movement on behalf of drivers and contractors. The structure allows funds to be securely held, tracked and disbursed in real time, so companies can scale instant pay programs without directly managing funds.

Established in 2024, GigSafe provides contractor compliance and management infrastructure for delivery and logistics companies operating in regulated industries - including medical courier, pharmaceutical and clinical trial transport. The platform combines identity verification, compliance monitoring, document management, and instant payment disbursement, giving operators a single system to onboard, manage, insure, and pay 1099 contractors compliantly at scale.

U.S. Bank Embedded Payment Solutions are designed for platforms, fintechs and enterprises seeking to integrate payment capabilities directly into their software environments. The solutions combine account services, payment rails and risk management technology to support a broad range of payment types – including instant payments – while allowing companies to maintain ownership of the end-user experience.
