Total Movements delivers challenging Project for Exxon Mobil Refinery, Antwerp

Sep 11, 2020

Total Movements was involved with this project & its planning since quite some time. To ensure a seamless operation, Total Movements attended a meeting involving all stakeholders like ISGEC Hitachi Zosen, Exxon, Worley at Antwerp last year.

The cargo was planned to be moved in the month of April 2020, but a sudden nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 threw all plans out of gear.

The Total Movements team had to re-work the plans considering lockdowns which restricted the movement of men, machines and material.

A spokesperson for Total Movements states: “Further, the movement of six Gofiner Reactors of 170 tonnes weight each from supplier's works to Dahej faced very heavy rains due to the Nisarga cyclone. To add to it, the loading on the vessel was extremely challenging due to heavy swell at Dahej due to monsoon. However, with the support of all the stakeholders involved we loaded the cargo safely on the planned vessel. The cargo was delivered safely and timely at Antwerp.”
