Tigers expands into new Rotterdam warehouse

Supply chain specialist Tigers has expanded into a newly-built 50,000m2 omnichannel fulfilment facility in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, offering sustainable e-commerce products and low-cost last mile B2B and B2C solutions across Europe. The carbon neutral warehouse has 60,000 pallet positions, 550,000 bin locations, and has been equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient LED lighting.

The hub's proximity to the city of Rotterdam means that Tigers employees can travel to work by public transport or by cycling.
The omnichannel fulfilment set up, which is powered by Tigers SmartHub:Connect freight, e-commerce, and logistics portal, is benefitting customers gearing up to deliver growing demand in the B2C e-commerce market.
“We are seeing explosive growth in our B2C business, whilst B2B volumes have reduced during the lockdown,” said Shahar Ayash, Tigers’ Regional Managing Director, Europe.
“We can help customers explore new ways of moving quickly into B2C, even if they are set up only for the B2B market.
“Companies need to be innovative to keep supply chains moving and to ensure that the ever-increasing demand for e-commerce deliveries can be met in an efficient and
environmentally-friendly way.
“Our new Rotterdam hub offers customers the space they need to grow organically and the tools and technology to do just that.”
Tigers, which has had a Rotterdam base for over 20 years, offers dedicated account management at the new mega hub, as well as turnkey e-commerce platform integrations, fiscal representation, and duty reporting in compliance with European law.
The new facility, located 10km from the Port of Rotterdam, is road and rail-connected and is part of the ongoing expansion of Tigers’ e-commerce fulfilment business.
To cater for the growing e-commerce market, Tigers has recently opened several new omni-channel facilities including one in Sydney, Australia, and another in Johannesburg,South Africa.
E-commerce already represents over 50% of Tigers’ business in Rotterdam, a key European hub for the Hong Kong-headquartered logistics operator.
