Spirit Airlines said on Monday Chief Executive Officer Ted Christie was stepping down from the company.
Its board is in the process of appointing a permanent replacement, the company said.
Spirit has set up an interim office of the CEO, consisting of Chief Financial Officer Fred Cromer, Chief Operating Officer John Bendoraitis and General Counsel Thomas Canfield, to lead the company until a new chief is named.
Selected projects will strengthen domestic rare earth supply chains, reduce reliance on foreign sources, and improve U.S. energy security.
