Secretary Raimondo’s meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin of the Republic of Korea

Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo held an introductory meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Jin. At the outset of the meeting, Secretary Raimondo congratulated Minister Park on his recent appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Secretary and Minister also discussed her recent trip alongside President Biden to Seoul, where she and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Chang-Yang launched the U.S.-Korea Supply Chain and Commercial Dialogue. The Secretary also expressed her appreciation for the Republic of Korea’s support and strong partnership on the development and launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and stated that she looks forward to continuing collaboration with the Korean government on IPEF. Additionally, Secretary Raimondo also expressed her interest in continued coordination with the Korean government on export controls in response to Russia’s unlawful aggression against Ukraine.
