Secretary Gina M. Raimondo’s meeting with New Zealand Minister for Trade and Export Growth Damien O’Connor

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo met with New Zealand Minister for Trade and Export Growth Damien O’Connor to explore opportunities for closer bilateral engagement and to discuss broader regional priorities. Specifically, the Secretary and Minister discussed President Biden’s interest in collaborating with like-minded partners across the Indo-Pacific on an economic framework that will facilitate cooperation on shared interests and objectives, such as infrastructure, export controls, the digital economy, supply chain resiliency, and more. They also discussed opportunities to enhance their collaboration on cross-border data flows such as through the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules System.
