Apr 10, 2023

With growing commercialisation and professionalism in the diamond market, the industry giants have come up with the concept of accommodating all buyers manufacturers and sellers under one roof- the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB).

On the sustainability of the building, Co-founder at Morphogenesis, Sonali Rastogi said that the SDB is daylit from both sides and the distance between the two buildings is according to the shades and that's why it is called microclimate controlled.

The building is also fitted with state-of-the-art technologies like radiant cooling and it is the world's largest cooling system, Rastogi explained.

Primarily, SDB aims to promote imports, exports and trading of Diamonds Gems and Jewellery from India and provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to the organisations engaged in the manufacturing and trading of diamonds, Rastogi added

The building also aims to promote, advance, protect and develop trade, commerce and industry relating to Gems and Jewellery including cutting, polishing and processing.

It will establish and maintain an International Trading Centre in India to facilitate the Diamond and Gems Jewellery industry.
