Polar King grows transportation team to meet customer demands

Feb 05, 2025

Polar King International, Inc., the nation’s leading manufacturer of walk-in refrigerator and freezer units, announces Trent Burford has joined the company as an over-the-road (OTR) Class A CDL driver.

Burford joins Polar King's transportation division, where he will be responsible for the safe loading, securing, and nationwide delivery of the company's walk-in cold storage units. This is his second stint with Polar King; he previously worked with the company between 2017-2023.

"Adding skilled and experienced drivers like Trent is crucial to maintaining our commitment to exceptional service and reliable delivery," says Dave Schenkel, president of Polar King International. “Trent was excellent for us in the past and we know we can count on him in the future, too.”

Burford is one of seven drivers on Polar King's dedicated delivery team, giving the company a clear advantage over competitors. Polar King is one of the only walk-in manufacturers that handles its own transportation rather than relying on third-party services. This in-house approach ensures end-to-end accountability and reliability that contracted carriers can't match.

Last year, these drivers logged more than 675,000 miles delivering walk-in refrigerated and freezer units to customers nationwide, demonstrating Polar King's investment in providing dependable cold storage solutions from point of sale to delivery.

“I’m excited to get back to work with Polar King,” Burford says. “This is a great company and a place where I’m already comfortable, so I’m ready to be back on the road helping our customers around the nation.”

In an industry dominated by traditional metal-based solutions, Polar King continues to separate itself with its 100% seamless fiberglass walk-in coolers and freezers. Unlike traditional walk-in units that are susceptible to rust and corrosion, Polar King's seamless fiberglass construction provides unparalleled durability and longevity.

Made in America, these units only require a simple electrical connection, arrive fully assembled, and are NSF-approved, ensuring customers can trust their cold storage solution.

Polar King units are designed for anyone seeking reliable cold storage. Units have helped hundreds of customers in the foodservice, education, pharmaceutical, agricultural, hunting, forestry and government agency industries.

Polar King is always looking for Class A CDL drivers to join its nationwide fleets.
