Pelican marks 45 years of excellence

Jan 21, 2021

As the new year begins, Pelican Products, Inc. is gearing up to commemorate its 45th year in business and commitment to its vision of “Protecting All That You Value”. From a humble garage operation in Torrance, California, Pelican has grown into the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance protective cases, temperature controlled packaging solutions, advanced portable lighting systems and rugged gear for professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

Since manufacturing its first product in 1976, the Pelican™ line has grown exponentially to include a range of high-quality lighting systems and cases, including the highly innovative and lighter Pelican Air cases, and the newly launched Pelican Cargo case line. The company’s technical packaging department offers a wide range of customizable, reusable, protective packaging solutions, including high-end CAD design, metal deck work, g-force-rated shock mount systems, advanced foam cushioning and fabricated frame systems. Their BioThermal division has achieved exceptional growth in recent years, offering cold-chain shipping solutions for the life sciences industry.

This anniversary follows the intense challenges of 2020. “The COVID-19 pandemic has given the company the opportunity to respond to a world health crisis in the best way we know how, by creating quality, durable products,” stated Phil Gyori, CEO of Pelican. “We have custom-designed protective cases for patient ventilators and warming blankets, while our BioThermal segment has safely carried antibody treatments for trials and expanded our deep frozen product range to meet temperature requirements for shipping COVID-19 vaccines”.

To honor the anniversary, Pelican will be releasing a limited-edition 45th anniversary product to be announced at a later date and will recognize the dedication of its over 1,500 global employees with celebrations and activities to commemorate the milestone year.
