one hour ago

Avion Express Brasil has announced a leadership transition, with Esteban Jauregui Lorda stepping down as CEO after leading the airline through its establishment and launch phase. Fernando Amaral, who has served as Chief Technical Officer, has been appointed Interim CEO on the 21st of August.

During his tenure, Esteban led the establishment of Avion Express Brasil, guiding the airline through several key milestones, including obtaining its Brazilian Air Operator Certificate (AOC), launching commercial operations with its first aircraft and successfully completing the IOSA audit, with accreditation now pending.

"We are grateful to Esteban for his leadership and commitment during one of the most important stages in Avion Express Brasil's development. Building an airline from the ground up takes vision, resilience and dedication, and Esteban led that effort with a team that carries it forward today," said Vytenis Suklys, CEO of Avion Express.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to build a new airline in the Brazilian market. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Together, we have achieved milestones that once seemed ambitious from securing our Brazilian AOC and launching commercial operations to successfully completing the IOSA audit and building a strong foundation for the future of Avion Express Brasil. I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished together," said Esteban Jauregui Lorda.

Avion Express CEO emphasized that Brazil remains a strategically important market and a key part of the company's long-term growth strategy. He added that the company will continue strengthening cooperation between its European and Brazilian AOCs, allowing Avion Express to better serve airline partners across both markets.

"With the IOSA audit successfully completed and accreditation expected soon, Avion Express Brasil will be well positioned to unlock new opportunities and support airline partners with additional ACMI capacity. As we prepare for the upcoming summer season, our focus remains unchanged: delivering safe, reliable and seamless operations while helping airlines respond flexibly to market demand.

We have built a strong team in Brazil and established solid foundations for long-term growth, and I am confident we will continue developing the business in line with market needs," said Vytenis Suklys, CEO of Avion Express.
