November 2022 U.S. airline traffic data

U.S. airlines carried 76.2 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in November 2022, seasonally adjusted, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS), up 0.3% from October.

BTS reported 66.7 million domestic passengers and 9.5 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in November.

Two measures of U.S. airlines passenger enplanements

November seasonally adjusted

  • System-wide enplanements (76.2M) were down 5.5% from the all-time high of 80.7 million reached in January 2020.
  • Domestic enplanements (66.7M) were down 5.9% from the all-time high of 70.9 million reached in January 2020.
  • International enplanements (9.51M) were down 2.8% from the all-time high of 9.78 million reached in October 2019.

November unadjusted

  • Systemwide enplanements (71.7M) were down 1.9% from the all-time November high (73.1) reached in 2019.
  • Domestic enplanements (63.5M) were down 2% from the all-time November high (64.8) reached in 2019.
  • International enplanements (8.19M) were down 0.9% from the all-time November high (8.26) reached in 2019.
