MSC announces GRI from Middle East/India Sub-Continent to USA

Steamship lines are once again challenged to maintain service profitability since freight rates are at levels that are no longer sufficient given current costs.

Mediterranean Shipping Company announced the following General Rate Increase (GRI) effective February 1st, 2020 as below;

Cargo from: Saudi Arabia (only Dammam & Jubail), Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh.

To: USA and Puerto Rico:

  • USD 400: per 20’ Equipment
  • USD 500: per 40’ Equipment
  • USD 500: per 40’HC Equipment

Note that Reefers and SOC & SOT are subject to the announced increase.
