Mitchell 1 congratulates Arkansas Trucking Championship Service Information Skills station winner

Jun 28, 2023

Mitchell 1 congratulates Haston Hellum of Rush Truck Centers for winning first place at the Service Information Skills station, which they administered during the 2023 Arkansas Trucking Championship held June 23-24 in Rogers, Arkansas. Mitchell 1 has been a long-time supporter of state and national technician skills competitions that are held annually to showcase the best truck drivers and technicians throughout the country.

At the Service Information Skills station, trucking professionals demonstrated their proficiency in diagnosing and resolving common maintenance issues using TruckSeries online repair information. Mitchell 1 presented Hellum with a Snap-on gift card for earning the highest score at their station.

“It’s always great to see a technician use web-based information tools to repair a vehicle quickly with confidence,” said Robert Crull, Business Manager for Mitchell 1’s Commercial Vehicle Group, who was present during the competition. “That’s the purpose of TruckSeries – to make it easy for techs to find all the data they need in a single lookup to get a vehicle back in service. Mitchell 1 is pleased to recognize Haston for his outstanding performance in this area.”

Hellum was among 29 truck techs and 19 trailer techs in the Arkansas competition who tested their skills at 14 Truck Technician stations. The other top finishers included Anthony Nunez of UPS, who was crowned the Truck Technician Grand Champion; John Staten of Rush Truck Centers, the Truck Technician Runner-Up; and Johnny Mosley of Tyson Foods who scored the highest on the written exam.

“Our involvement in the state and national technician skills competitions since their inception has remained an important part of our annual schedule each year,” said Kristy LaPage, Director of Mitchell 1’s Commercial Vehicle Group. “Technicians are the backbone of our industry. Our goal at Mitchell 1 is to make the best tools available to them and to recognize their accomplishments at these competitions.”

The TruckSeries software suite provides integrated access to labor estimating, diagnostic trouble code procedures, and repair information for medium- and heavy-duty trucks in a single application. TruckSeries is the only comprehensive truck repair information software suite of its kind available for Class 4-8 trucks, delivering a one-stop, single log-in, all-makes data resource with interactive wiring diagrams, ADAS quick reference, digital pictures, DTC-to-diagnostics, and more, all delivered in seconds.
