Metthatug, the world’s first tugboat to run on methanol will be launched on May 14th

Port of Antwerp-Bruges and FASTWATER would like to invite you to the official launch of Metthatug , the first methanol-powered tugboat in the world. This event will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Port House in Antwerp.

Port
of Antwerp-Bruges aims for climate neutrality by 2050. Allowing ships to sail on alternative fuels is an important measure to reduce CO2 emissions and to green the fleet. For the Horizon 2020 FASTWATER project, this is the largest ship of 3 demos that demonstrate the feasibility of methanol-powered ships under operational conditions.
