The International Shipsuppliers & Services Association (ISSA) is deeply concerned at the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East and shares the worries of the International Maritime Organization over the attacks on seafarers and the loss of life in the region.
ISSA places the safety of ship supplier personnel as well as the shore and ship-based employees of its members' customers, the shipowners and ship managers, at the top of its list of priorities and calls on ISSA members to rely only on verified official information, conduct risk assessments and maintain heightened vigilance at all times.
Ship suppliers and their teams across the region remain on the front line of this conflict, facing the ongoing risk of injury or worse while these attacks continue. ISSA therefore continues to urge extreme caution and reiterates that the safety and wellbeing of its people remains its overriding priority.
