IBA, the leading aviation intelligence and advisory company, has announced the appointment of Dr Stuart Hatcher as Chief Data Officer, adding to his existing role as Chief Economist.
In this expanded position, Stuart will combine his extensive industry experience and deep understanding of data to further strengthen IBA's commitment to their clients and industry partners to provide quality data, expertise, and aviation intelligence.
With over 25 years of experience spanning science, aviation intelligence, and executive leadership, he brings a uniquely analytical and multidisciplinary perspective to the role. During his tenure at IBA thus far, Stuart has led teams spanning consultancy, data, and technology; built the company’s previous digital products and served as both the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer.

As Chief Data Officer, Stuart will leverage IBA’s data assets to deliver actionable, intelligence-led insights to the global aviation community. Working closely with the Sales, Data, and Advisory teams, he will focus on enhancing data coverage, depth, and analytical rigour, ensuring IBA continues to meet the highest standards of accuracy and relevance for its clients.
In this new role, his key priorities will include applying user perspectives and industry expertise to improve data processes, product innovation and communicating intelligence-led market insights to the wider industry. He will also focus on further strengthening IBA’s industry relationships, continuing his active engagement at key aviation events and remain an active Senior ISTAT Certified Appraiser.
In addition to his role as Chief Data Officer, Stuart will continue to serve as IBA’s subject matter expert in commercial aviation and economics, with a particular focus on OEMs, leasing, finance, and trading.
