Holtronic introduces innovative temperature indicator range for cold chain and supply chain logistics

Holtronic Ltd, a specialist designer and manufacturer of smart temperature and time monitoring devices, has launched several new lines of innovative electronic indicators designed to safeguard temperature sensitive shipments across the food, pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. The neo® electronic indicators are more precise than chemical-based alternatives yet offer the same small form factor and robustness for package level monitoring.

Headlining Holtronic’s suite of precision monitoring solutions is a new reusable electronic temperature and time indicator. Developed to reduce the waste and costs associated with traditional temperature monitoring devices, the reusable neo can be securely reset and reused up to 90 times before replacement. Utilizing a dedicated reset device to prevent accidental tampering or unauthorized resets, the unit significantly cuts environmental waste while maintaining rigorous quality assurance and auditability.

The reusable neo indicator has been developed after strong demand from sectors such as rail and airline food catering, where food is served on the move, and need not be returned to stock if it has been stored at the correct temperature.

The neo® indicator range comprises low cost, easy to use indicators that travel with shipped goods and provide clear visual alerts when temperature conditions fall outside a specified limit, and without the need for complex software.

  • Downloadable Reporting — Users can download a detailed temperature history and status report to support GDP compliance, audit requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Multi-Use Capability — Each unit can be securely reset using a dedicated reset device, enabling repeated reuse.
  • Tamper-Proof Design — The dedicated reset unit helps prevent unauthorized or accidental resetting, supporting data integrity and security.
  • Audit Ready — Every unit includes a scannable QR code linked to its unique serial number and calibration certificate for simplified traceability and compliance support.
  • Sustainable Impact — Reduces environmental waste and operational overhead compared with traditional single-use alternatives.

"At Holtronic, we believe temperature and time monitoring should combine smart engineering with practical, everyday usability", said Nora Murphy, Commercial Director of Holtronic. "With the launch of the resettable, reusable neo, we are offering businesses an accurate, practical, sustainable and cost-effective way to protect product integrity throughout complex supply chains—from long-haul transport to last-mile delivery."

Holtronic’s UK-based team of engineers and designers work directly with customers from concept to delivery, ensuring tailored solutions, regulatory compliance and bespoke branding. The company says it expects to announce further innovative new products shortly.
