one hour ago

Hoopo announced the appointment of Gil Lehmann as Senior Vice President of Operations. Lehmann is a member of Hoopo's executive management team.

Lehmann joins Hoopo following many years in senior leadership roles within ZIM’s global logistics and operations organization, where he oversaw one of the largest container fleets in the world, managing complex, large-scale operational processes across international container logistics networks. Widely recognized across the shipping industry for his leadership in global logistics operations and supply chain transformation, Lehmann brings deep operational expertise and strategic industry perspective to Hoopo at a pivotal stage of its global expansion. Over the years, Lehmann was also closely involved in container digitization and operational optimization initiatives involving Hoopo, giving him firsthand perspective on the growing role of real-time visibility technologies across global shipping operations. His transition from one of the industry's leading global carriers to Hoopo underscores the growing convergence of operational expertise and technology innovation across container logistics.

The appointment reflects Hoopo's continued investment in delivering fleet intelligence solutions that drive meaningful digital transformation and real operational impact for shipping lines worldwide, as the company expands its global footprint across the container logistics ecosystem. Lehmann's extensive carrier-side experience will further strengthen Hoopo's ability to develop and deploy solutions that address the day-to-day operational realities of global shipping lines.

At Hoopo, Lehmann will oversee the company’s Operations organization helping drive the next phase of operational performance, scalability, and customer delivery. He will also contribute across product, customer success, and commercial initiatives that focus on the growing value of visibility and automation across global shipping operations. The appointment reflects Hoopo’s growing role within the global container logistics technology landscape.

“ZIM has been at the forefront of container digitization and operational innovation, and I am proud of what we built together over the years. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for what it takes to run a global carrier at scale, and for the technology partners who truly understand those operational realities. Over the years, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how Hoopo combines technology, operational understanding, and execution in a way that is highly aligned with the real needs of the shipping industry,” said Lehmann. “As the industry continues accelerating its digital transformation, Hoopo is uniquely positioned to help carriers move beyond visibility alone and turn container data into faster decisions, better asset utilization, and measurable operational outcomes.”

“Gil brings exactly the kind of operational leadership and industry understanding needed for Hoopo’s next growth phase,” said Ittay Hayut, CEO and Co-Founder of Hoopo. “This is not simply about scaling operations. It’s about deepening our commitment to shipping lines by embedding their perspective directly into our products and moving from fleet tracking to self-orchestrating global operations. Gil’s carrier-side experience accelerates our ability to close the loop between digitization and real operational impact, turning container data into faster decisions, optimized asset flows, and measurable efficiency gains that shipping lines can feel across their day-to-day operations. Gil has been at the forefront of container digitization from the carrier side, and that perspective will be invaluable as we continue helping the industry turn visibility into significant operational value.”

As Hoopo continues to expand globally, the addition of Lehmann further strengthens the company’s position as a trusted operational technology partner for shipping lines, leasing companies, and logistics operators seeking to digitize their operations in the new era of data and AI.
