Europe Cargo handle 253-ton heat exchanger in Antwerp

Dec 20, 2022

Europe Cargo, Project Cargo Network members from Belgium, recently discharged a hefty 253-ton heat exchanger ex-barge to terminal using a floating crane at Port Antwerp-Bruges.

The crane was positioned alongside the barge with scrubbers attached for lifting. It was moved slowly and carefully allowing balance at all times.

When high enough, the barge sailed and the crane approached alongside the terminal quay. Slings were used to gently lower the heavy cargo onto wooden ground.

Finally, the heat exchanger was loaded onto its designated sea vessel with prepared flats for safe delivery.
