Cowart appointed as Director of Operations for Taylor Defense Products

Mar 20, 2025

Phil Sprio, Director of Taylor Defense Products, recently announced the appointment of Joe Cowart as Director of Operations. “With the continued growth of Taylor Defense Products in the support of our armed forces, Cowart’s role will be a vital asset in the success of these new endeavors,” Sprio remarked.

Cowart, a 2000 graduate of Mississippi State University, worked for Taylor Machine Works (TMW) after college until 2008. He returned to TMW as Manufacturing Engineer Group Leader in 2015. Cowart was promoted to a senior management position in 2016 as Director of Industrial Engineering and Quality.

The Taylor Group of Companies launched Taylor Defense Products in 2017 with a mission to supply the U.S. Military, its allies, and the U.S. government with the longest-lasting, best-supported, lowest-total-cost material handling and logistics products. Since then, Taylor Defense Products has continued to see significant growth.
