CMA CGM low water surcharge Manaus, Brazil: from/to Asia - postponed

Oct 29, 2025

Further to the latest monitoring results for the Amazonia River levels, available data show that the water levels are decreasing at a slower rate than initially estimated. As a consequence, CMA CGM is postponing the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) implementation in both directions, from Far East to Manaus and from Manaus to Far East, as follows:

Effective November 15th, 2025

- Port: Manaus, Brazil

- Perimeter: From/to Far East

- Cargo: all

- Amount: USD 950 per TEU

- Settlement: as per freight

CMA CGM reminds that the LWS is an emergency surcharge that will remain applicable until the sailing conditions return to normal.

Their team of experts will continue to closely monitor the river conditions, should the operational situaiton evolve, updated communication will be issued prior to any change.
