CLI improves LTL operations with an augmented dock management board

Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI), veteran providers of freight management software for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) fleets, today announced an enhanced Dock Management Board that improves freight visibility, worker productivity, and loading accuracy.  The solution supports dynamic routing, photo capture, and is integrated with pallet dimensioning solutions.

CLI’s Dock Management Board includes a graphical display that shows the loaded, unloaded and in-progress status of trailers, with icons showing potential operational issues.  The trailers are displayed in a virtual dock representation by using a customized overlay of the facility that visually plots dock door locations. Simply clicking on a trailer icon brings up detailed load and shipment information, with drill downs all the way to the Bill of Lading.

The CLI Dock Management Board runs as a mobile application on any Android-based device to manage and record dock activities. Operations managers have full visibility of each dockworker’s activities, and any exceptions are brought to their attention in real time for immediate resolution. A photo capture feature in the mobile application protects against claims, and records both freight and trailer appearance.

New facilities can be onboarded to the application without programming because its proprietary dock door-mapping feature is included in the solution.

Further development plans include a yard check feature for tracking the location and status of trailers at facilities that are not currently assigned to a dock door.
