Mar 25, 2025

CenterPoint Properties has appointed Jeff Thornton to lead its Central Region team as executive vice president. Thornton comes to CenterPoint from Ryan Companies, where he was president of the firm’s South Central Region.

CenterPoint’s chief executive officer Bob Chapman said CenterPoint’s leadership was impressed by Thornton’s reputation and more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience.

“Jeff brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the industry, making him a valuable addition to our leadership team,” Chapman said.

Jim Clewlow, CenterPoint’s chief operating officer, said Thornton will oversee all operations and strategic initiatives within the Central Region.

“Jeff’s extensive background in driving growth and fostering innovation will help us achieve our goals and continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients,” said Clewlow

Before Ryan Companies, Thornton spent more than 20 years at Duke Realty. He was involved in development, leasing, acquisitions and asset management during his tenure there. As its regional senior vice president, he oversaw the firm’s strategy and operations for its 30-million-square-foot portfolio in Dallas, Houston, and St. Louis.

“I’m beyond excited to join a company of CenterPoint’s stature as a highly respected industrial real estate investor, developer and manager,” said Thornton. “Thanks to Bob, Jim, and CenterPoint’s leadership for the opportunity to help CenterPoint continue to grow its footprint and deliver outstanding logistics solutions to its customers in the Central U.S., particularly in its Texas markets. I’m very much looking forward to utilizing CenterPoint’s industry-leading platform with a top-tier team to drive value creation across our Central Region portfolio,” he added.

CenterPoint's Central Region comprises more than 83 assets totaling nearly 24 million square feet of warehouse space from Chicago to Houston, Dallas and Austin, Texas. Nationwide, CenterPoint owns and manages nearly 63 million square feet of space in 308 buildings, serving 389 tenants.
