BNSF grain train derails in South Dakota, no injuries or hazmat

Railroad operator BNSF said on Tuesday it had received a report of a train derailment in Scotland, South Dakota, that has disrupted operations on its main track.

The derailed train was carrying grains, BNSF said in an e-mail to Reuters.

The Berkshire Hathaway-owned railroad said there were no reported injuries to the crew and there was no hazmat involved.

"A team is on site working to clear the incident as quickly and safely as possible. An estimated time for reopening the track has not yet been determined," the company said, adding the cause of the incident is under investigation.
