Balan wins Women in Air Cargo Award

Head of CargoBooking, Anna Balan, received the Women in Air Cargo Award for IT during Aviation Connect in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Wednesday 15th October.

The awards were launched this year by Eva International Media to recognise the work of women within their organisations and the wider industry.

Balan was commended for her leadership within CargoBooking, her dedication to developing the platform’s capabilities, and her role in driving digital transformation across the air cargo sector.

“It is an incredible honour to be recognised alongside so many women whose contributions have shaped this industry and its future,” said Balan.

“I am exceptionally proud of what the CargoBooking platform is able to do for our users, and how our team continues to develop tools that drive industry-wide digital adoption.”

CargoBooking, powered by Awery Aviation Software (Awery), is an instant air cargo rate distribution, quote, and booking platform that connects capacity and demand in real time, using AI and automation to reduce manual processing and improve data accuracy.

“This award also reflects the amazing work of the CargoBooking and Awery teams, whose support has been invaluable,” added Balan.

Last year, Balan was named Young Airfreight Professional of the Year at the Air Cargo News Awards, celebrating young talent in aviation.
