The American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) announces John Gravley of Leawood, Kan. as its Executive Director.
With over 30 years of experience in non-profit work, Gravley has an extensive background in a variety of settings and locations. He has worked in higher education, social services, and international development in the United States, Hong Kong, and Guatemala. He has served as executive director, fundraising leader, and senior search consultant for a Kansas City-based executive search firm. He has a track record of successful and creative leadership in various roles.
As an executive director, Gravley guided a previous agency through a merger and consolidation of boards and services. As a fundraiser, he effectively managed multiple multi-million-dollar capital campaigns. And as a search consultant, he successfully placed numerous staff members.
Having served for eight months as ATHS Interim Executive Director, Gravley accepted the position full-time beginning in July 2024. He looks forward to working with ATHS to determine how to implement the recently adopted ATHS Vision Statement best and move the Society to even greater stability as ATHS works to preserve the history of trucks, the trucking industry, and its pioneers.
