Athena Global Logistics report huge breakbulk project

Athena Global Logistics recently handled a huge breakbulk project for a power plant with cargo moved from India to the UAE.

The cargo of power plant machinery and parts in a dismantled condition originated in Gujarat before transport to the POL of Mumbai for shipping to Jebel Ali, UAE. The gross weight of the shipment totalled 440mtn with 126 pieces.

  • 2 x Main Generators - Each at 136mtn
  • 116 x Spare Parts (including compressors, panels, filters, pipes, etc.) - 73mtn
  • 7 x 40'HC Containers with Spares & Accessories - 80mtn
  • 1 x 40'OT Container with Spares & Accessories - 15mtn

Athena were responsible for an extensive scope of work including registration, pre-inspection, planning, carting, transportation, fumigation, examination, measurements, painting, labelling, port handling, under-hook movement, valuation, customs, packing, surveys, freight handling and shipping.
