ACEC Statement on the State of the Union Address

Feb 05, 2020

Washington, DC - The American Council of Engineering Companies – the voice of America’s engineering industry – released the following statement from its President and CEO, Linda Bauer Darr, in reaction to the President's State of the Union Address:

"The House and Senate have offered their plans and the President has delivered his State of the Union address. Now it’s time for both sides of Pennsylvania Avenue to get to work to fix America’s infrastructure.

Our elected leaders have the opportunity to grasp the moment and work together to design a bill that not only addresses our backlog of existing projects but points us to the future. We must take bold action to design and fund sustainable infrastructure that supports America’s competitiveness, tackles crippling congestion, and embraces innovation and technology.

The professionals in America’s engineering industry – our nation’s best problem solvers – are ready to help Congress and President Trump design the America we deserve."
