AAR Statement on the Inauguration of Donald J. Trump

Jan 20, 2025

AAR President and CEO Ian Jefferies issued the following statement on the inauguration of Donald J. Trump and JD Vance as the 47th President and Vice President of the United States.

“Congratulations to President Trump and Vice President Vance. As they enter office, Americans are looking to them and Congress for sound policies that create lasting opportunity, deliver economic prosperity and keep our nation competitive. America’s railroads stand ready to work alongside the new administration to meet these challenges head on and keep the country moving forward.”

Ahead of today’s inauguration, President Trump and his team have outlined an ambitious agenda and timeline to advance these key economic priorities. Beyond those, key policy areas for the rail industry include encouraging innovation through outcomes-based regulations, modernizing permitting processes, and maintaining the balanced economic regulation paradigm that paved the way for the world’s safest and most efficient rail network.
